She runs with the toughest, and then tumbles into your arms for the deep sleep of a sunny afternoon.  Softly, Sam befriends all those who know the pain of skinned knees and hurt feelings, offering the salve of compassion, even to us big kids.  She knows where the boo-boos are, inside or out.
